Exporting Security Controls

Export functionality allows you to export a single Security Control or all Security Controls in a single action. Whichever method is deployed the exported file is saved in .xml format in the Downloads folder specified in your Web Browser.

Exporting a Single Security Control

Use the Export Security Control option to export the Security Control configuration to an .xml file which can then be re-imported at a later date.

The selected Security Control must be enabled in order for the export feature to be available.

This useful it you need to transfer a Security Control from one configuration to another. See Exporting all Security Controls (below) for information on exporting all Security Control configuration in a single action.

Exporting all Security Controls

Use the Export All Controls option to create a .xml file containing the configuration of all the Security Controls in this instance of Event Manager.

This can be used for backup purposes or if you need to switch machines for any reason. The exported file can be saved to a network location or memory stick and transferred between devices using the Import Configuration option.

Import Configuration

Use the Import Configuration option to import a previously saved export file. When this option is selected, you are prompted for the location of the file that you want to import. Once selected, click OK to begin the import process.
