Viewing Resource Monitor Status

The Resource Monitor Status page allows you to view the statuses of the resources you're currently monitoring.

NOTE: Resource monitoring is set up in either the IBM i (green screen) version of Robot Console or the Explorer version (installed on a PC). Within Insite, you can view the data from the monitors.

Getting There: In the Navigation Pane, clicktap Resource Monitor Status under Robot Console.

You can filter the display by one or more resource statuses (Failed, Held, Pending, Passed, and Unknown). Select any of statuses and only the resources with those statuses are displayed. If you do not select a specific status type, all statuses are displayed. For a description of each of the statuses, see the Data Descriptions table below.

Click the Show Actions menu icon to display a menu of options. For details on the options, see Working with Resources.

Field Function

Status

The current status of the resource is displayed, indicated by an icon and text. The statuses are:

Failed — Indicates that the resource has been checked and is not in its expected status.

Held — Indicates that the resource is being held.

Pending — Indicates a resource that is being held because its primary resource (parent) is either being held or is not in its expected status.

Passed — Indicates the resource has been checked and is in its expected status.

Unknown — Indicates the resource’s status has not been checked.

Name

The name of the resource.

Extended Information Extended information is displayed for certain statuses. You will see information such as the actual status.

Type

The type of resource. For more on resource types, see your Robot Console User Guide.

Expected Status

The expected status of the resource. This is specified when the resource is defined. A resource with a status that differs from the expected status is considered unavailable. The resource’s expected status depends on the type of resource. The following are some of the more common statuses:

  • Active
  • Exists
  • Inactive
  • CPU
  • Not Found
  • Open
  • Released
  • Started

Priority

The priority of the resource. The priority specifies how often the status of the resource is checked. The priority is specified when the resource is defined. A monitored resource can have any priority between 1 and 4.
